Richland County Children Services will receive a $327,823 federal grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for its Kinship Navigator Program.

The three-year grant was obtained as part of implementing the Fostering Connections to Success Act and in partnership with Public Children Services Association of Ohio.

The Kinship Navigator Program places children with grandparents and other relatives. The program also provides information, referral and follow-up services to these caregivers to getting benefits and services they or their children may need.

Richland County is among seven other counties receiving funding. The other counties include Crawford, Ashtabula, Clark, Hardin, Portage and Lorain. Richland County Children Services must provide a 25 percent match for the first two years and 50 percent the third year.
