The city of Shelby is making preparations to hold its first-ever "Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Parade" at 2 p.m. Nov. 7.

Shelby resident Bill Staton, is coordinating the event, after feeling Vietnam veterans didn't receive the thanks they deserved 35 years ago.

He hopes to fill the streets of Shelby with Vietnam veterans from all 88 counties in Ohio.

The parade will step off at Grand Blvd. and travel west to Main Street, south to Gamble Street and will end at Tucker Avenue.
