A Crestline woman accused of helping her sex offender boyfriend escape from the Volunteers of America halfway house in Mansfield has pleaded guilty to complicity to escape.

Candace Watson, 25, entered the plea Monday in Richland County Common Pleas Court. She faces up to five years in prison.

Watson and Robbi Potter, 27, left the area with her four-year-old daughter Haylee Donathon on May 28. They were apprehended in San Diego California at a christian retreat center following a month long nationwide manhunt.

Potter had been convicted of sexual battery involving seven-year-old and nine-year-old children.

Watson will be sentenced on Oct. 19 for the third degree felony in Richland County Common Pleas Court.
