Mansfield Postal workers hold an informational picket outside of the Mansfield Post Office. ..
Passing motorists were asked to help send out an S.O.S. for Mansfield Postal workers this past weekend.

About 30 postal workers held an informational picket in front of Mansfield's Post Office seeking support in a letter-writing campaign to stop the United States Postal Service from transferring some mail processing to Akron during the "Save Our Service" rally.

American Postal Workers Union Local 903 President Wendy Hammon says Mansfield has a standard one-day delivery except to Youngstown and Cincinnati but Akron has a standard two-day delivery, so it doesn't make sense to send mail to Akron and then have 50 percent of it come back to Mansfield.

Hammon says area residents can write letters in care of P.O. Box 515, Mansfield, Ohio, 44901 or send emails to sosmail.org.
