Local residents celebrated the last major holiday of the summer Monday as the annual Mansfield Labor Day Parade stepped off on Park Avenue West in the downtown area.

Hundreds of people lined the parade route to watch the many floats. marching bands, color guards and walking units, who marched proudly to recognize and honor the working class of America.

The Mansfield Labor Day Parade is sponsored each year by the Crawford-Richland County AFL-CIO.  President Ron Davis says there were 60 entries in this year's parade, which he says, is also held to show support for the community, state and nation, becaise of the economic struggles all are facing.
